Our organic poultry are raised to strict soil association standards, grazed in
large open paddocks and have free access to water and natural shade. They are
allowed to roam freely at all times, as nature intended making for the finest
tasting free range meat. The poultry is always housed at night to deter foxes;
their daily waggle back to the field is a great spectacle. Our poultry is
slow grown to award winning methods and, when slaughtered, dry plucked and hung
to ensure the best flavour.
Geese
Geese are available at Christmas in 4 sizes
[small, medium, large & extra-large] which can either be collected from the
farm, delivered overnight in insulated boxes (UK mainland only) Our Geese are grass and corn
fed and have firm succulent meat that simply oozes flavour, perfect for a
traditional Christmas treat.

Ducks
Our Ducks are reared to the same Soil
Association standards as the Christmas geese, but are available all year round.
They are brooded in mobile arks and then allowed to free-range from 3-4 weeks depending
on the weather. They are shut safely in at nights to protect from foxes.
Did you know that conventional free-range ducks are killed at six and half
weeks after only free ranging for 2 weeks? Our Ducks are slaughtered after
twelve weeks.
Ducks are available all year round.
Turkeys
The extra special Christmas treat! Our free-range
organic turkeys are available over the Christmas period; they are reared to the
same high standards by Marilyn Brookes, who farms in nearby Cheriton Bishop
then Processed in our own abattoir to ensure a succulent and unforgettable
flavour.
Chickens
As Nevil is so busy now rearing ducks, our chickens are now grown specially for us by Freddie Chanin. Freddie Produces a bird that has grown longer (at least 11weeks), ranged further on lush grassland on the edge of the Exe valley and has exceptional welfare. This, along with Nevil's careful slaughter and handling gives a fantastic tasting chicken.
