Last week saw Rona, Nevil and the children go up country to a very wet and muddy Royal Show to attend an awards Presentation for the Waitrose Small Producers Award. Unfortunately they didn't come away with any money, but they did recieve some Champagne and a certificate recognising their achievement of reaching the final four in their fresh produce class. Better luck next time!
Back at the farm we are still trying to make silage and hoping that things will dry up soon. Unfortunately all though they are water birds, young geese don't survive heavy rain (they get Hypothermia) so they have been kept in a lot. Nevil has been busy developing Barbeque products for when the weather does improve, so check out the flavoursome Duck legs in orange and dill marinade or fantastic succulent lamb leg steaks with your next order.
