Now the summer is here we often get the chance to visit shows and festivals. First up this summer is The Childrens Food festival on the 27th and 28th June, where Dora and Rona are talking about Elsas Organic Duck Eggs. It looks like it should be a fun event! We also continue to
support our local markets at Hittisleigh (2nd Sat) and Tedburn St Mary
(3rd Sat).
Back on the farm we are still busy shearing the sheep and making silage. Hopefully we are trying to make some hay this year to try and cut down on our use of plastic. We try and cut our silge in July to give our sky larks a chance to fledge, slowly the numbers on the farm are increasing which is great news.
The ducks are still laying well and now being stocked in 2 more waitrose stores. You will also find them at Darts Farm near Topsham. Read more about the eggs at http://www.elsaseggs.co.uk
Lamb is exceptionally good currently and brillant value when bought as a half lamb to stock the freezer, why not order with some poultry and make plans for great organic feasts in the coming weeks.

Welcome To Higher Fingle Farm -Organic free range poultry and meat. |
Started in 2001 by Rona & Nevil Amiss and originally named Exmoor Organic, Higher Fingle Farm aims to
supply the highest quality Organic free-range Ducks, Geese, Chickens and
Turkeys to both the wholesale market and the discerning public. We also
keep Cattle, Sheep and Pigs.
In 2005 we moved from the centre of Exmoor National Park
(hence the name) to the less exposed Higher Fingle Farm on the edge of
Dartmoor. The move however has not affected the quality of our
livestock, all are kept to Soil Association Standards, meaning they are
free-range, fed organic food and kept longer.

Higher Fingle Farm is a 57-acre, tenanted, all grassland farm with
small fields and many wildlife rich hedges. It is in the rolling parish
of Drewsteighton at an altitude of around 200m.
Our on-site MHS Licensed Abattoir and cutting plant is fully licensed by the Soil
Association and can process all types of poultry. Having an abattoir on
the farm means that our produce is as fresh as possible with the best
flavour.
Our products are available nationally from high quality butchers, food shops, restaurants and Waitrose. They are also available direct from our on-line shop (Follow the links) or to collect from the farm
