Here at Higher Fingle we have been enjoying the sunshine and warmth after what feels a long winter! The cows and calves are looking really well now that are out at grass and the ducks are enjoying roaming far afield! Jobs on the farm include cleaning the barns out, shearing the sheep and general maintenance, as well as visiting the shows! We don't make our silage yet, the organic grass taking a lot longer to grow and we try to wait until the ground nesting birds have fledged.So far this policy seems to have worked with the numbers of skylarks slowly increasing.
Currently there is good availability of chicken and duck and lamb boxes are available with 10 days notice. If you keen on BBQ's Tim will prepare a super Spatchcock chicken which also cooks beautifully in the oven.

Welcome To Higher Fingle Farm -Organic free range poultry and meat.
Started in 2001 by Rona & Nevil Amiss, Higher Fingle Farm aims to
supply the highest quality Organic free-range Ducks, Geese, Chickens and
Turkeys to both the wholesale market and the discerning public. We also
keep Cattle, Sheep,Pigs and a flock of laying ducks producing award winning organic eggs.
Higher Fingle Farm is a 57-acre, tenanted, all grassland farm with
small fields and many wildlife rich hedges. It is in the rolling parish
of Drewsteighton at an altitude of around 200m.
Our on-site MHS Licensed Abattoir and cutting plant is fully licensed by the Soil
Association and can process all types of poultry. Having an abattoir on
the farm means that our produce is as fresh as possible with the best
flavour.
Our products are available nationally from high quality butchers, food shops, restaurants, Abel and Cole, Riverford and Waitrose. They are also available direct from our on-line shop or to collect from the farm.
